France lost a new soldier this Friday in Chad. Aged 25, and father of a child, Brigadier-Chief Andy Fila belonged to the 14th Infantry and Parachute Logistics Support Regiment in Toulouse. He died this Friday, July 31 in the morning, while performing a maintenance intervention on a refrigeration unit at the Kossei base in N'Djamena. He was "fatally hit by the explosion of an equipment", indicates the staff of the armies.
An investigation by the provost gendarmerie is underway to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Army General François Lecointre, “bows with deep sadness at the memory of this soldier who died in operations. His thoughts are with his family, his brothers in arms, especially those injured during this operation, and all their relatives ”.
