The figure of a Virgin of Guadalupe who was lost a decade ago after Hurricane Alex passed through Monterrey reappeared in a sandy bed of the Santa Catarina River after the heavy rains that Storm Hanna left in that area of northern Mexico. The figure was erected in 1990 in honor of the visit of Pope John Paul II to that city.
