An Austrian tourist damaged an important sculpture by Antonio Canova, the "Paolina Borghese", kept in the museum of Possagno (Treviso). Vittorio Sgarbi reports that he is the president of the "Antonio Canova Foundation".
"After the reopening of the museums, and among them the Possagno Gipsoteca Museum - says Sgarbi - there is a sensational episode, which does not come from Italian visitors, or from non-EU citizens, but from an unconscious Austrian tourist who has decided to pose for a photo of opportunities sitting on the Paolina Borghese, breaking her toes.
I ask the police and the judiciary for clarity and rigor, identifying the unconscious vandal with security tools, and not allowing him to go unpunished and return to his homeland. The scarring of Canova is unacceptable ", he concludes.
