Iran announced today (Saturday) that it has arrested the head of an "American terrorist group" that it says is behind the 2008 bombing in the city of Shiraz, and is responsible for further attacks against the country. State television reported that "Jamshed Sharma, who led sabotage operations against the country within Iran, is now in the hands of security forces."

Meanwhile, Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, spoke live on state television yesterday (Friday), denying any talks with the United States on Tehran's missile and nuclear programs. Khamenei called on the Iranians to "oppose US bullying."

"America's brutal sanctions on Iran are aimed at causing our economy to collapse. Their goal is to limit our influence in the region, and prevent us from having missiles and nuclear capability," Khamenei said.
Khamenei dismissed calls from Europe for Iran to open a dialogue with the United States, saying, "We will not agree to talks designed just to help Trump's new election campaign."
