The head of the Buenos Aires Government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, said this Saturday at a press conference, that the City of Buenos Aires maintains an average of 1,100 daily cases of coronavirus, which represents "a situation that is worrisome."

"The average for the last 14 days is 1,100 new cases per day. This is a stable figure but remains high. The doubling rate of cases is 34.1 days and the R is still stabilized around 1.03. This is another reason to continue working to bring it below 1. The occupation of therapy beds in the public system is just less than two weeks ago, reaching 59%. 50 intensive care beds were added to add up to 450, "he added.

Larreta said that as soon as there are details to be able to modify other aspects of this stage, it will be announced automatically. In any case, "the gradual opening up of the industry" will continue as part of the measures set forth in the plan to reopen activities in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.

Thanks to the work with the DetectAr operation, the situation is controlled, with an R below 1 and the curve that has been dropping dramatically. In addition, regarding health workers and the situation of nursing homes, 5 testing cycles have already been completed for each of these workers with 174,789 serological tests carried out: hence 1,791 positive cases emerged.

Regarding the presence of the DetectAr plan in each of the city's neighborhoods, work is currently underway in 29 neighborhoods that comprise more than 80% of infections.

What is coming is a new form of testing in the City for all those living with infected people. The experience with DetectAr and epidemiological interviews show a high rate of contagion in people who live with an infected person. They will be tested at home, whether or not they have symptoms. It has already started in Villa Ortúzar, Palermo and San Telmo, and other neighborhoods will be added.

Continue the seroprevalence study to have a clearer picture of how many neighbors have already been infected. The Buenosairean government is contacting the selected residents through a letter and anyone who has a question can call 147.
