One of the members of the Advisory Commission for judicial reform, which Alberto Fernández presented on Wednesday, referred this Sunday to the controversy regarding the increase in the number of members of the Supreme Court of Justice.

This is Andrés Gil Domínguez, who assured that they will only carry out a "general diagnosis" regarding the operation of the Supreme Court, the possibility of implementing jury trials, among other points.

When asked by the number of Court judges, he replied on Miter radio that "it is a politically closed discussion because the opposition said that it will not agree"

And he remarked that the main task will be to debate "the operation" of the Supreme Court, regarding " if it works well in judicial terms so that the Court gives an answer , there is a very important issue to discuss there."

Gil Domínguez is a professor of Constitutional Law at the UBA and one of those who proposed the reform of the functioning of the Court to facilitate the presentation of extraordinary appeals before that court.

The commission was also questioned because some of its members are jurists close to Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, who is most interested in reforming Justice.

However, Gil Domínguez highlighted that there are people of different ideologies "and the" gender variety "in the advisory commission, whose objective will be" to evaluate and diagnose, to put alternatives to the President . "And added that from this," the game of the politics of dissent and the search for consensus "to advance in the modifications to the Judicial Power.

In addition, he maintained that "the problem is not to make the reform or not to make it, but the crack" and that while it is deepened it is not going to be able to make a reform because the one who does it receives the disqualification of the one who does not do it.

" The way out of the pandemic is going to need a Justice different from the justice that existed before the pandemic , to solve things peacefully," the lawyer concluded.
