The presence of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner's lawyer, Carlos Beraldi, in the president's advisory commission regarding judicial reform , generated strong controversy and many suspicions as a result of the large number of open cases that the vice president has. Therefore, this Sunday, the protagonist came out to talk about it and defended his appointment . He also left a message for the Supreme Court and questioned the opposition.

"I had no doubt that they could question me, but not with a serious argument or with a concrete, legal or ethical reason. I only integrate an advisory council on issues that I have been working on for 30 years," he said. Beraldi on FM Milenium

For him, that the President has summoned him to form part of the commission "is a compliment". And he assured that he accepted knowing that they could question him, but that he understood that "they are the rules of the game." He also said that Cristina did not have to consult anything and that it is a decision he made on his own.

And he remarked that the claims that the reform will help Cristina in the causes she has against are false: " Whoever says that this serves for a program of impunity, is lying ."

"It has no support, it is such an imaginary and ridiculous thing that it is difficult to answer it , I do not want to laugh, because they are going to criticize me," he added. And she explained: "This is a non-binding technical opinion. It has no specific reference on any issue in which Cristina has to be analyzed."

In this regard, he said that "if there were any political intentions of Cristina, that she have a framework of impunity, or influence the ministers of the Court," she is not going to use him since "that is why she has trained politicians . "

"I do not dedicate myself to politics. In Congress political discussions will take place. The only thing I am going to do is a technical observation," he clarified.

In turn, he affirmed that the statements that say that it is in the President's plans and in the roles of this judicial reform to expand the number of ministers of the Supreme Court are lies. " There will be an analysis of its operation, the criterion of how judges are selected, but at no point did the president speak of having to talk about expanding the number, " he confirmed.

He also said that if, after the commission's analysis, the conclusion is reached that it must be expanded, "we will discuss it," he said . But he also said that "any increase implies a very broad-based political agreement, it cannot be done with kicks."

Regarding the Court's position, he affirmed that "if he gets angry because there is a commission, it is not democratic . " And she also shot at the opposition, since "a party that opposes something it does not know does not have much future."

"The previous government had a judicial reform program for 2020 and it was headed by Dr. Gil Lavedra and nobody said no, and he was also an attorney for Vice President Michetti, " he recalled. And he expanded: "Gil Lavedra was not questioned to be at the forefront of the Macri government reform for that matter as I am questioned for being Cristina's lawyer. Lawyers can do those things, unless we are the ones who have to make the decision. "

Finally, he recalled that "tomorrow the trial of public works resumes" against Cristina Kirchner, that everything "follows its normal process" and that they never opposed its continuity.

"I always said to go to oral trial because it is the framework in which one has to defend himself. We ask the OT to be public and that those who want to see can also connect," he concluded.
