From May to July, the Social Development Section of the Peninsula Youth Chamber of Commerce interviewed 801 18-65-year-old working persons in the form of online questions to understand their stress, mental conditions and coping methods. Nearly 90% of employees face moderate or above pressure

According to the survey results, 87% of respondents said they are facing moderate or above pressure; 52% of respondents said they have mild or more worries. The survey results also showed that the main sources of stress for respondents were personal health (72.7%), job prospects (65.7%) and the persistence of the epidemic (53.6%). In terms of industry, the tourism industry has the highest degree of pressure (19.07%), followed by the medical industry (17.72%) and the design industry (17%). Employers provide support to reduce employee stress

The survey results also show that newly recruited and low-income employees (less than 10,000) generally have higher levels of stress and anxiety; among many age groups, those over 40 have a tendency to have a higher stress index. With regard to improving the mental health of working people in Hong Kong, the team believes that the three stakeholders of the government, employers and employees should work together to improve the situation.
