It was precisely Adriana's daughter who reported the disappearance of her mother, a 54-year-old Spanish woman who had been missing for five months. A daughter who loved her and suffered her absence.
Adriana was a drug addict and practiced prostitution, although she was not born a drug addict or a whore, which is something that we must always consider. She was simply one of the surviving women of a generation with far fewer opportunities and so macho, that even the name of the NGO that could have helped her with her addiction was called Project Man. Because both the television commercials to raise awareness against drug use, as well as the campaigns of the different ministries that were fighting drug addiction when Adriana was 20 years old were directed at men.
They were the protagonists of all the campaigns and it was not taken into account that 20% of drug addicts at that time were women. Adriana was hooked from a young age and was alone fighting that monster from the beginning.

Adriana was a strong and brave woman, she had a will and that was how she alone, for a long period of time, managed to leave the poison that was more and more voracious with her every day. He fell in love and had his daughter, but life did not treat her well and ended by necessity in prostitution: to get his girl ahead, to try to distance her from all the bad that she had lived in her flesh since she was very young.
Adriana went from club to club and then went to the flats; of these, to the street, to end up in the Colonia Marconi de Villaverde, which is nothing more than the elephant cemetery of prostitution, where the women who are thrown out of the hostels for their physical and mental deterioration go to. , or those of the mafias of the Eastern countries that are masters and lords of that hostile territory. It is in that polygon where she went to sell the only thing she had, her body. A body already sick from the excesses of a life that had mistreated it.
The last time Adriana was seen alive in Marconi was on a July afternoon, at witch time when the sun goes down. That magical moment where the light is horizontal, produces long shadows and is strongly colored. That wonderful light marked the decline of Adriana's life. With that sunset it disappeared forever from the polygon. No one saw her again until, five months later, on December 2 they found her body inside the cover of a mattress thrown into a wasteland that served as a dump. A place where neighbors dumped their garbage, waste and useless things that bothered them at home. The woman's body was in a cadaverous state and with clear signs of violence.
Adriana, mother, Spanish, neighbor, friend and wife, suffered, a lot, in a life in which she looked for a way to survive in a rival society that offered no opportunities. Hopefully the earth is light and you rest in peace.
