At about 12 noon, a tractor was suspected of losing control of a tyre. After hitting a rock, it "bounced its head" and traversed the exit of the pipe. A private car was behind and could not be stopped. Fortunately, no one was injured. The accident caused the Lion Rock Tunnel to implement single-tube two-way traffic. The long tail of the train to Kowloon has reached Ge Tin Village, and the long tail of the train to Sha Tin has reached Waterloo Road near the Ying platform. The traffic is congested.

Afterwards, there were at least three car accidents in the Lion Tunnel out of Kowloon. One of them occurred at 1:32, involving a truck. The driver was injured and sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.
