Four days passed since the long-awaited reopening of the hairdressing salon after four months closed as a result of the quarantine due to the coronavirus pandemic. Leandro Casado has been in business for 20 years and on Saturday, around 4pm, one of his employees was the victim of an incredible robbery attempt.

Matías, who is Leandro's niece's boyfriend, received a client around noon. The man tried to enter the business to have his 11-year-old son's hair cut, but, by protocol, the Buenos Aires hairdressers are only attending in turn, so the man took one out at 4:00 and left.

When he returned later, the boy cut his hair normally at the corner location of Coronel Francisco Uzal and Debenedetti, in Olivos, Vicente López's party.

"They were calm, they did all the acting because he took out the money as if they were going to pay him and Matías did not suspect anything. Later, when he turned around, he pointed a gun at him. The boy had it hidden in his pants, I suppose because he is a minor, and he went to want to force the box. The father pointed at him and told the son to grab the silver. There was a struggle because the barber resisted believing that it was a toy weapon. "It turned out that way, he reacted by resisting because we have been going through very difficult times for months, I have eight employees, two stores to pay the rent. I have been delivering sushi to bank these months, I am melted and in debt, I almost have to close ", Leandro explained, still distressed by the scene. "I told you next time, turn everything in."

The images of the robbery were filmed by surveillance cameras of the business, which also has a neighborhood alarm and a private security service. The employee received blows to the head and kicks, but suffered no injuries. " The boy was kicking him and saying to the father ' shoot '  , as if to see that it was a real weapon, crazy," said Leandro surprised.

After the struggle, the man and the boy escaped. Another hairdresser who managed to flee through the back door was the one who called 911 and the patrol officer detected the assailant and her son soon after.

The thief had managed to rob other shops during the course of the afternoon, in fact they found him with money that - they presume - he would have obtained as loot in one of them.

Police managed to capture the assailant with the weapon they used for the robbery attempt at the hairdresser, which according to investigators was a toy.

The investigation was left to the Gastón Larramendi prosecutor's office, who requested the assailant's arrest and ordered that, due to his age, the child be in the custody of his mother, who removed him from the Munro Police Station.

Matías, the assaulted employee, told Telefé that the situation "did not get worse" and that the robbery did not materialize. "I think it was a plastic pistol and in the awful example that dad gives him, even though it seemed like a partner relationship, that was kind of shocking ."
