Due to many such incidents that have occurred in the past in Alaska, the local government advises residents not to leave garbage cans open or food in places where they can be smelled from the outside. In case of a bear intruding into the house or space of the family members, the recommendations are not to show any panic or teasing of the bear, but to remain calm until the wild animal leaves voluntarily.
