(CNN) - In partial images obtained by The Daily Mail newspaper of the body cameras used by two of the now-Minneapolis police officers involved in the arrest of George Floyd, the panicked man can be seen fighting with officers while in the back of a patrol in the minutes before his death, saying, "I can't breathe."

Moments later, after the fight, Agent Thomas Lane can be heard asking Officer Derek Chauvin if Floyd should be sidelined.

Floyd died on May 25 while in custody, and the incident, which was also recorded on a cell phone video, sparked protests that soon spread across the country. Protests over his murder and the death of other black citizens by the police sparked intense discussions about racism in the United States.

The London-based Daily Mail did not report how it obtained images from law enforcement cameras.

The police camera footage of Thomas Lane and J. Alexander Kueng was presented in court on July 7 by Lane's attorney as evidence supporting his motion to dismiss the charges against the former agent, but only the written transcripts were made public. by the court at that time.

Judge Peter Cahill, who presides over the cases, made the camera images of Lane and Kueng's body available for limited in-person viewing in court on July 15.

Cahill refused to allow news organizations to post the images. A coalition of local and national media companies, including CNN, filed a motion in July calling for the immediate release of the two videos.

All four officers involved have been fired.

Chauvin was charged with second degree murder.

The other three officers involved in the death of Floyd, Kueng, Lane and Tou Thao, were also arrested and charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.

Ben Crump, an attorney for Floyd's family, said in a statement Monday that the leaked video shows the man did not pose a threat.

"The police officers approached him with their weapons drawn, simply because he was a black man. As this video shows, it never presented any threats. The contradictions of the agents continue to build. If it weren't for the videos, the world could never have known about the mistakes made against George Floyd. ”

While neither agent has filed a formal statement, Thao and Lane's lawyers have asked that the cases against them be dismissed, and Kueng's lawyer has said that his client intends to plead not guilty.

A spokesman for the judge said Monday that Cahill had yet to comment on the motion to publicly post the body camera images.

Chauvin and Kueng's lawyers declined to comment Monday. CNN also contacted attorneys representing Thao and Lane for comment on Monday, but did not receive an immediate response.

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, who is prosecuting the case, told CNN that his team is not the source of the video the Daily Mail has.

"The prosecution team is not the source of the leak. We will continue to take the strictest precautions to ensure a fair trial, "said Ellison.
