In addition, Zhonglong does not meet the certification of "Medical Laboratory-Quality and Competence Requirements" under the Hong Kong Accreditation Service.

The Home Affairs Department responded that due to the urgent property control and inspection plan, the government decided to directly purchase entrusted services from Zhonglong through the Epidemic Prevention and Anti-epidemic Fund, and then cooperate with local laboratories that meet the requirements for testing, but the authorities did not disclose the name of the laboratory involved. .

The Register of Medical Laboratory Technologists Management Committee shows that all three are not registered medical laboratory technologists. Zhonglong Medical Laboratory Certified Industry: Optional

According to the Hong Kong Laboratory Accreditation Program under the Hong Kong Accreditation Office, Zhonglong was accredited by ISO/IEC 17025 "Non-medical laboratories and calibration laboratories" to conduct "tests required by China's compulsory product certification system", chemical testing, food, Testing and calibration of toys and children's products. However, Zhonglong did not meet the certification of ISO 15189 "Medical Laboratories-Quality and Capability Requirements".

Li Weizhen, chairman of the General Association of Medical Laboratories of Hong Kong, said that the certification of relevant medical laboratories means that its technicians are regulated and have relevant professional knowledge. He added that certification is voluntary and not required. Even without certification, it can operate normally. However, he emphasized that in accordance with the registration requirements, the directors of medical laboratories must include laboratory technologists to achieve quality management. The service is provided by Zhonglong partnering with a local laboratory that meets the requirements, but the name of the laboratory involved is not disclosed. As of August 3, about 68,000 sample bottles have been distributed, of which more than 17,000 samples have been tested.

As the government is still discussing the procurement of testing services with other individual testing institutions, it is not appropriate at this stage to disclose the details of the services and fees charged by individual testing services for related testing services.
