Without ever having lost sight of each other, they had been waiting for their artistic reunion for 46 years: thanks to Barbara, Gérard Depardieu and Pierre Cardin will be reunited again on August 15 for the 20th anniversary of the Lacoste Festival (Vaucluse). Chaired by Ève Ruggieri, this festival brings together established artists and young talents from all walks of life each year. Soprano Natalie Dessay, tenor Jonas Kaufmann, but also Arielle Dombasle, Thomas Dutronc and Mireille Mathieu performed there.

In the former stone quarry of the Marquis de Sade's castle, owned by the couturier, Gérard Depardieu will pay homage in song to the “Lady in Black” of whom he was a close friend. In 1974, the couturier welcomed Gérard Depardieu to his debut on the stage of the Espace Cardin in Paris with La Chevauchée du Lac de Constance, a play by Peter Handke, with Jeanne Moreau and Delphine Seyrig. It offers until August 7 an open-air cinema with a retrospective of musicals, from West Side Story to La La Land , including Mamma Mia! or Grease . Built in the 11th century, the Château de Lacoste was bequeathed in 1716 to Gaspard François de Sade, grandfather of the sulphurous marquis renowned for his erotic writings, who lived there for several years.
