Álvaro Uribe's arrest: keys to the case against him 2:27
(CNN Spanish) - Former President of Colombia Álvaro Uribe has a coronavirus, Gabriel Velasco, senator and spokesman for the Democratic Center, a party founded by the former president, reported Wednesday.
"President Álvaro Uribe has been diagnosed with covid-19. However, his state of health is optimal, he has not presented any major symptoms, or any respiratory difficulties, "Velasco said in a video broadcast to the media.
The news comes a day after the Colombian Supreme Court of Justice issued house arrest against Uribe. The former president is for alleged bribery and procedural fraud, in one case for alleged witness tampering. Uribe has rejected the allegations.
