Beirut: up to 300,000 people homeless after the explosions

According to Marwan Abboud, the governor of Beirut, up to 300,000 people would find themselves homeless, following the huge explosions that rocked the city's port on August 4. The damage would spread over half of the city.

" I took a tour of Beirut, the damage can amount to between three and five billion dollars, " the governor told AFP, specifying, however, that he was awaiting an assessment from experts and engineers. “ Almost half of Beirut is destroyed or damaged, ” he said, with 250,000 to 300,000 people becoming homeless.
