An old union conflict reappeared at the CGT Board of Directors meeting: Truckers' voracious appetite for staying with members of other unions. Specifically, there was talk of the blocks that the union led by Hugo Moyano carried out in five distribution centers of Mercado Libre in the middle of last month. The protest had been in demand that the personnel who work in a logistics warehouse of that e-commerce company be framed under the agreement of Truckers and not of Loading and Unloading, as it is currently.
Although he is a member of the CGT Board of Directors and is a member of the Arbitration Committee of the trade union center - it is the body that resolves which organization corresponds to the affiliations of workers in the event of a dispute between unions -, the general secretary for Loading and Unloading, Daniel Vila rarely has a very active participation in the meetings of the Cegetista leadership.
But in Tuesday's meeting, at the UOCRA, he had a rather stellar role : he described in detail what the conflict with Truckers for Mercado Libre had been like and where the dispute was now.
After his story, Daniel Vila took the complete support of the CGT in the fight with Truckers . What's more: the cegetista leadership announced to the leader of Loading and Unloading that he will process an audience with the Minister of Labor , Claudio Moroni.
Before Vila exposed, the perfumer Rubén Sandoval , who had criticized the Moyano for having stayed with members of their guild in a cosmetic company a few years ago , had taken the floor .
In 2011 it was calculated that Truckers had taken - "stolen", in the words of the trade union - 26,000 workers from the Trade union, more than 10,000 from the Security Union, 5,000 from FATAGA (Gaseous Waters) and around 2,000 from Loading and Unloading . At that time, at the hand of Carlos Tomada in the Ministry of Labor, everything was resolved in favor of what Moyano intended.
One of the CGT co-general secretaries, Héctor Daer, had condemned the blockades to Mercado Libre. "Here is a collective agreement in force and under no point of view can the conflict be deferred with a blockade against the comrades, " said Daer.
The cegetista criterion is that worker disputes must be resolved first through the Ministry of Labor and later in the CGT Arbitration Committee. And if there is no agreement, in Justice.
After the blocks, Truckers began a negotiation with Mercado Libre. But the union reported that negotiations with the company are bogged down and that they could carry out new measures of force.

In a statement, Pablo Moyano - the first-born son of the truck driver and number two of the union - said last week: "We do not rule out holding the assemblies again on the income of the distribution plants of said company in the coming weeks."
