The race to find a vaccine for Corona: The US administration will pay over a billion dollars to the Johnson & Johnson pharmaceutical corporation for 100 million doses of the potential vaccine it is developing, Reuters reported tonight (Wednesday). According to the latest price list published, the price of the company's vaccine dose is $ 10.

In March, the US government transferred about $ 456 million to the corporation for the development of the vaccine. The price is relatively low compared to other companies. For example, the price paid by the administration to the pharmaceutical company Pfizer and the German biotechnology company BioNTech SE is $ 19.50 per serving.

Johnson & Johnson is now considering two vaccine options - one with one dose and the other with two separate doses, while the other two companies seek to test two doses for each volunteer who will take part in their study. On behalf of the corporation it was stated that it intends to transfer the use of the vaccine to the US Food and Drug Administration. At the same time, there are reports that the administration is expected to purchase an additional 200 million shares in the future. The cost of the agreement has not yet been revealed.

This is the first agreement to be concluded between the global corporation and any country in the world, but at the same time negotiations are also underway with the EU countries, with the human trials phase to begin in the near future.

Following the announcement of the signing of the agreement, the corporation's share on the New York Stock Exchange rose by one percent.
