(CNN) - A judge for the control of guarantees in Bogotá on Thursday imposed house arrest on the lawyer Diego Cadena, who is part of the defense of former President Álvaro Uribe for the alleged crimes of bribery and procedural fraud.
Cadena's lawyer, Iván Cancino, defended his client in the days prior to this hearing and said that no crime was ever committed, but rather humanitarian payments.

The case is related to the investigation carried out by the Supreme Court against the former president for alleged witness tampering. This Tuesday the highest court ruled house arrest against Uribe, who has always denied the charges.
