The disaster in Beirut:  Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah gave a special speech tonight (Friday) against the recent events in Lebanon, about the disaster in Beirut. At first Nasrallah intended to speak last Wednesday and address tensions with Israel - but in his speech announced that he would not address issues beyond the country. .

"I wanted to talk about some issues that have been discussed in recent days - including what is happening on the Lebanese border, events in the area, the Corona Court and more. However, in light of what happened in Beirut, I decided to talk today about only one issue.

"We are facing a humanitarian, social and national catastrophe - there are more than 150 dead, most of them from Lebanon and the rest are Syrians," he continued, "We are facing a unique event during this period, in the social, media, legal, political and economic sense. ".

"The people came en masse to help"

"The people came en masse to help, both the security forces, the fire brigade, the hospitals, a blood donation that Hezbollah called for the first time due to the large number of wounded. Along with these, evacuation of the wounded, evacuation of residents Without difference.

"As far as we are concerned, Hezbollah has put all its means to the benefit of the cause, and again I say for the benefit of the cause and the state and the people affected by the disaster we emphasize the issue of the roof - we learn from the experience of the 2006 war Due to the damage caused. "

"We thank the Muslim and Christian neighbors and other neighboring countries for standing by us, for various movements and organizations that have shown solidarity with the Lebanese people alongside the assistance they have offered to Lebanon. To France and President for help."

"We have no ammunition, no missiles or bullets in the port"

Nasrallah then began blaming Hashem in the incident from the terrorist organization he stands for and said: "In Lebanon from the first hour of the disaster, even before it was understood what was and what happened there, some political and media elements came out strongly against Hezbollah that it belongs to Hezbollah missiles or ammunition depot "Hezbollah's weapons - I promise there is no connection to that at all," he said.

"The incident happened as a result of an initiating factor or a chain of mistakes, but those factors are not their business - and the main thing is to attribute the warehouse to Hezbollah, what is behind it is to claim that the organization is behind the destruction, killing and wounded - this matter crosses justice. Our people were injured, killed and unfair To claim that it belongs to us.

"These are lies that unfortunately many people believe in out of their personal pain. I emphatically emphasize and deny - we have nothing in port, no ammunition, no missiles, no cargo and no bullet point. All the global media is back in it and most of those who claim that it belongs to the organization are in the Lebanese media, everything is a lie - we do not run the port, do not control it and do not know or know what was there or what is happening there. "Some claim that we know what is happening in the port of Haifa more than what is happening in Beirut, that is our job."

"When the truth comes out - expect the Lebanese people to conscientiously judge these media outlets that have claimed against us, when the truth comes you will understand that these media outlets are lying and you must boycott them - they are striving for civil war." It should be noted that some Lebanese media boycotted the speech, along with the speeches of other politicians and did not cover it after the arrest of a number of media staff in the country.

154 killed, 120 in human condition

Earlier, Lebanese President Michel Aoun also referred to the disaster and called for "speeding up the investigation into the matter," after the port manager and 15 other workers were arrested tonight.

"We call on the judiciary to expedite the investigation into the explosion at the port, and it is important to understand how these materials got into place. We asked French President Emmanuel Macron aerial photos to understand whether the explosion was the result of external action or negligence. None of those involved will be backed," he said.

At the same time, Lebanese Health Minister Dr. Hamed Hassan announced that the death toll from the disaster had risen to 154. The number of injured hospitalized stands at about 5,000, with 120 of them in critical condition.

Meanwhile, Iranian Security Council Secretary Mohsan Razai said: "French President Emmanuel Macron's speech in Beirut calls for intervention on intra-Lebanese issues. Instead of drawing attention to the factors behind the blast, we see it pushing for political change in the country and undermining stability."

As you may recall, French President Emmanuel Macron announced last night at a press conference in Lebanon the organization of an international conference that will discuss aid to the country in the coming days. He stressed that France would never abandon Lebanon alone and demanded that the Lebanese leadership make profound reforms.

During the night, clashes took place between protesters and security forces in the Lebanese capital, following the huge explosion in the port this week, which caused enormous damage in the city. A small group of protesters burned objects and threw stones at police, and security forces sprayed them with tear gas in response. The demonstration dispersed during the night.

Yesterday, the Lebanese newspaper "Al-Akhbar" close to Hezbollah wrote that Israel errs in reading the reality when it comes to the terrorist organization. According to the newspaper's editor, Ibrahim al-Amin, there are those in Israel's political and military leadership who may go on an "adventure" in the wake of the Lebanese crisis, and they are betting that the explosion will cause Hezbollah to give up a response to the active killing in Syria. According to him, the reason for this is that in Israel it is believed that Hezbollah is in trouble and needs a ladder to get off the tree that climbed on it. Al-Amin claimed that those factors must understand that Hezbollah's response will come - and it will be bloody.

100,000 children were left homeless

Some 100,000 children have been left homeless in Lebanon in the wake of the bombings that shook Beirut this week, according to the UN Emergency Fund - UNICEF. .

According to information received by the emergency fund, there are many reports of children being separated from their families some of whom are still missing. The Reuters news agency reported that more than a quarter of a million people were forced to evacuate their homes. UNICEF expressed concern over the many children suffering from trauma and being left in shock. UNICEF added that they continue to coordinate with authorities and field officials to address the urgent needs of families suffering from destruction across Beirut, particularly in terms of medical assistance, food, shelter and drinking water.

If that wasn't enough, damage was done to 12 medical centers in the city, which provide training and assistance services to pregnant and childbirth women, vaccinations and more - affecting 120,000 residents. Also, a children's hospital in Beirut, which specializes in baby care - was completely destroyed. Damages were also documented in many schools in the city around the port. The remaining active hospitals are collapsing under the load and urgently need medical equipment supply. All this while in the last 48 hours, 464 new cases of Corona virus infection have been recorded, which indicates an alarming increase in the level of morbidity.

As part of its efforts to assist the victims, UNICEF is working to provide drinking water to residents, conducting condition assessments in warehouses, schools, infrastructure and hospitals, as well as extracting vaccines from what is left of the port. Provide them with psychological support and set up a money transfer program for temporary residence.
