The Legislative Work Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress held a press conference today (7th) on the legislative work. Zang Tiewei, spokesperson for the French Trade Union, said at the press conference that no issues related to the vacuum period of the Hong Kong Legislative Council for the next year have been included in the Statutes of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.

The 21st meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress will be held in Beijing from tomorrow to next Tuesday (8th to 11th). The Sixty-ninth Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress suggested that the draft taxation law, animal epidemic prevention law, juvenile crime prevention law, copyright law and other draft amendments should be reviewed at that time. It will also propose amendments to drafts on the National Flag Law, National Emblem Law, Organic Law, and Rules of Procedure.

The government has postponed the Legislative Council election for one year in response to the epidemic earlier, but the current focus of society is whether it will establish a provisional legislature or allow current members to postpone another year. Tan Yaozong, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, had predicted earlier that the National People's Congress would make a principled decision on the topic of the Legislative Council's vacuum period.
