The tension between the Government and the City does not stop subsiding. President Alberto Fernández lit the wick on Wednesday when he took up the sayings of Buenos Aires Governor Axel Kicillof and maintained that in the City there is no more place to attend to older adults.

This Thursday, despite the response from Buenos Aires Minister of Health Fernán Quirós, Chief of Staff Santiago Cafiero and PAMI chief Luana Volnovich insisted in the same direction as the President.

“There are PAMI members who do not have beds in the City. It's been happening for a while. That is what those who are trying to cover all their affiliates tell us , ”said the coordinating minister and the president's“ alter ego ”in an interview with El Destape Radio.

Cafiero reiterated the concepts that the President outlined when he opened a hospital in Ituzaingó on Wednesday and affirmed that the City can no longer care for older adults affiliated with PAMI.

"That is happening is undeniable. It does not speak of how the City or Province has been carrying out (attention to the pandemic). It is a fact of reality that there are coverage situations that are not being covered and have to be covered in the Province, "said the official.

In the Buenosairean cabinet they indicate to the governor Kicillof, who took those numbers to the meeting that maintained with the President and the head of Government before the announcement in which he returned to explain the problem. "It is incredible that Alberto buys what Axel says ," lamented a senior City official.

The head of the PAMI, Luana Volnovich, who accompanied the head of state in the act on Wednesday, defended the numbers of the social work of retirees and pensioners. "What Alberto Fernández said, which is a striking fact of reality, is that the City's health system is much more saturated than that of the Province, " the official said in statements to the same station.

Volnovich stretched the figure of 15% of PAMI affiliates serving the Province - and that the President and the Buenos Aires governor had mentioned - to 20%.

“We end up migrating patients. Many go to the centers that we opened in the Province and others in private clinics. The fact that family members cannot visit them due to the Covid protocol, makes that easier, "he concluded.

The head of the PAMi, Luana Volnovich, with the mayor of Esteban Echeverría, Fernando Gray.

In the Capital they recall that the social work belongs to the Nation and emphasize that the Buenos Aires public system receives 140,000 PAMI affiliates and that 20% of the intensive care units in the Capital are destined for Buenos Aires patients; and a higher percentage for those infected with mild symptoms.

Quirós publicly offered to intercede with private clinics so that they can serve PAMI patients.

The tension between the national government and Larreta increased in recent days, after Wado de Pedro, Cafiero and Cristina Kirchner criticized the double stick of the Buenos Aires police in the demonstrations of the City . The President's criticism of Mauricio Macri, too.

In the Buenos Aires cabinet there are those who blame La Cámpora -the group led by Máximo Kirchner and to which the Interior Minister and Volnovich belong- for the tension of the last days.

Leaders linked to harsh Kirchnerism - without management responsibility, such as former ambassador Alicia Castro - had criticized the President, when in the act of July 9 he referred to the head of government as his "friend".

In the Buenos Aires Legislature, where the Frente de Todos is the main opposition force, they also increased the intensity of their criticism of the head of government.

"Larreta forgets that the rule of law is based on equality before the law," the block led by Claudio Ferreño, personal friend of the President, said in a statement this Saturday to criticize the actions of the City police on the march. by Santiago Maldonado.

Larreta will continue betting on silence. In the last hours, he did not speak or message the President . The head of government does not give "any" entity to the crossings of the officials, but within his cabinet not all think the same. They interpret them as gestures of the Government to the hardest sectors of the ruling party.

His last direct contact with the national executive was his visit to La Rosada to present economic recovery plans to De Pedro, the same official who questioned him on Saturday.
