"Doomsday Weapons" will be activated? Meretz is putting pressure on the replacement Prime Minister Bnei Gantz and Blue and White to support legislation that would ban Benjamin Netanyahu from running in the election.
The chairman of the Meretz faction, MK Tamar Zandberg, called on blue and white: "Immediately enact a law that prohibits a criminal accused of forming a government."

"These days it seems that even though Blue and White gave him the mandate, Netanyahu is still galloping to the polls while not getting sick of inciting and crumbling democracy instead of treating Corona," MK Zandberg said.
"This is unequivocal proof why a bribe defendant cannot be prime minister. I call on Blue and White to join an initiative that has a majority in the Knesset and enact a law that will not allow a criminal defendant to form a government after the next election."
In blue and white, they considered raising the issue to the agenda this week, if the Likud had supported the bill for the overcoming ceasefire, but in the end Likud members, and Prime Minister Netanyahu, were absent from the vote and the law did not run smoothly.
There is a deep disagreement between Blue and White and the Likud regarding the budget, with Netanyahu supporting an annual budget (contrary to the coalition agreement and, in the opinion of senior finance officials) and Gantz with a biennial budget. The deep controversy is reflected in the fact that an agenda for tomorrow's cabinet meeting has not yet been announced. If the budget is not passed by August 25, the Knesset will dissolve and Israel will go to the fourth election in a year and a half.
