Members of the Daraa Fire Brigade and the Directorate of Agriculture, in cooperation with the people, extinguished a large fire that broke out yesterday in the forest trees in Tal al-Jabiya in the governorate countryside.
The head of the directorate's forestry department, Eng. Jamil Al-Abdullah, said in a statement to SANA's correspondent that a large fire broke out in the dry grasses and forest trees in Tal al-Jabiya, indicating that the area affected by the fires is estimated at 300 dunums, according to initial estimates.
In a related context, the Daraa Fire Brigade controlled four fires that broke out yesterday in different areas of the governorate.
The commander of the Daraa Fire Brigade, Colonel Muhammad Mahamid, stated in a similar statement that the regiment members put out a fire in farms and a fire of dry grasses and the remains of a harvest in a canopy and a fire of grass and trees on the road to Tafas and a fire of dry weeds and the remnants of the harvest east of the town of Sidon, calling on citizens to report the fires to deal with them immediately.
