At least 130 people were injured in clashes between security forces and demonstrators in the Lebanese capital Beirut. 28 of them were taken to nearby hospitals, 102 were treated on site, the Lebanese Red Cross said on Twitter.

Four days after the devastating explosion in the port of Beirut, demonstrators had previously tried to break the barrier to parliament. They threw stones. Security forces used tear gas on a massive scale to stop people.

Thousands of people protested peacefully against the political leadership in central Beirut. They blame the government for the explosion, which left more than 150 dead and 6,000 injured.

Some demonstrators managed to penetrate the Lebanese Foreign Ministry, as reported by the TV channel MTV. Pictures from the broadcaster showed how they smash a picture of President Michel Aoun. The activists put up a large poster with the slogan "Beirut is the capital of the revolution".
