2020-08-08T18:43:21.222Z

Once again this summer, the Cour d'Honneur des Invalides is the scene of a sound and light show retracing 3000 years of Parisian history, through the prism of the majestic building of Les Invalides.

A grandiose show

To the rhythmic rhythms of famous classical tunes, the paved courtyard of the Invalides lights up every summer evening in a thousand colors, each more flamboyant than the next. This 8th edition of the Nuit des Invalides, still orchestrated by the scenographer Bruno Seillier and produced by the Amaclio company, becomes an unmissable summer event for all history buffs, show lovers or curious about walks in the capital. Under the benevolent eye of the monumental Dôme des Invalides, we sit, we listen, we observe and we immerse ourselves with poetry in a night walk to meet famous people who built Paris. From Clovis to Charles de Gaulle via Napoleon, these emblematic figures remind us of the richness of the history of the capital and the symbol of this place.

Cutting-edge technology

From the birth of Lutèce to the Second World War, the images projected on the 250 m² of interior facades are magically linked for a total immersion in time, thanks to the 8 enormous new generation 4K laser video projectors and the bewitching voices of Jean Piat, André Dussollier and Céline Duhamel telling the story with passion and clarity. The latest technologies in the field of video-mapping are striking and the 50 minutes of show pass at a crazy pace in this setting where every detail of the architecture is subtly exploited on 360 degrees. On the sound side, everything is also adjusted: wherever you are in this closed place, the sensory immersion is excellent.

On the spot

The gauge for each performance is set at 1,500 spectators in order to keep the distance within the Cour d'Honneur des Invalides. Note that 500 seats are reserved for those who choose to pay the gold square. The others will see themselves sitting on the ground, on cobblestones loaded with history. It is therefore wise to bring a little cushion to make the most of this immersive experience! At the end of the screening, possibility, in addition, of visiting the illuminated Dome Church, serving as a military Pantheon since the 1st Empire. A unique night stroll around the tomb of Emperor Napoleon I.
