Six recruits to the combat units have spent the last few months in a special activity for the needy • Base commanders praise and wish success • Special project

The new recruits who are currently making their first steps in uniform, with an emphasis on infantry, armored and engineering unit fighters, who have been recruiting since this week, have encountered a particularly challenging reality in recent months. Corona virus. We have gathered six new recruits who have carried out inspiring projects in recent months and volunteered for the community, just before the recruitment.

Lear Levy, 18 and a half years old from Ramat Gan, enlists in the Artillery Corps:

The Corona caught me completely in mid-life: during my matriculation, at the height of my urban endeavor, in the preparations for the prom - and suddenly everything stopped. With the help of other partners from Ramat Gan, we have established an online center run by teenagers and young people designed to help retirees find their way around the net, purchase food and medicine, and receive remote instruction on the use of Zoom. We also set up a volunteer center that called hundreds of individual retirees every day. Ahead of the recruitment, I am accompanied by some concerns and a lot of excitement. The bag is ready, and I'm waiting to embark on a new path. I wish my recruiting friends to take this period easily - the purpose for which we are recruiting is more important than anything!

Commander of the Artillery Brigade, Lt. Col. Assaf Rahamim:

Dear recruits, today you begin your military journey and enlist in the Artillery Corps. The corps, known for its quality personnel, integrates advanced technology into a wide range of arrays that play a key role in operational activities. You begin a training session where you will learn new skills, listen to battle heritage and embark on journeys and field days that will qualify you to be the sharpest warriors. You will often face challenges and obstacles, but I have no doubt that thanks to working together with your new friends, and with the help of the commanders, you will know how to overcome them - and become excellent fighters who will take part in the corps' glorious heritage. we are waiting for you. I wish you success in your new path.

Omar Fishbein, 18, from Kibbutz Hanita, enlists in the Kfir Brigade:

I have been volunteering at MDA for three years. When it started to spread, all the youth volunteers were removed from the ambulances. As someone who is used to doing an average of 5-4 shifts a week, it was strange not to come to the station. When I turned 18 I returned to the ambulance With full protection and helping drivers not to work alone. I take advantage of every spare moment: I also continue to volunteer, and I also train for enlistment in the IDF. To all the non-commissioned officers who enlist during this period, I would like to wish easy recruitment - and good luck.

Battalion Commander of the Kfir Brigade, Lt. Col. Yaniv Malka:

Dear recruits, today you are enlisting in a division that will become your second home and family. The friends who will sit next to you on the bus will march with you on journeys - and will stay by your side for life. After completing the training of the fighter at Kfir Hospital, you will be part of a brigade that writes its legacy on the pages of history every day; But through hard work, perseverance and faith in the righteousness of the way you will become professional fighters who represent us with dignity. Remember the moments when you thought you would not succeed, and you continued. Remember that the commanders always want your good and are here for you. I wish you success.

Coral Goyli, 18, from Hadera, enlists in Karkal:

After a year of service in Ramat Gan, I enlisted as a fighter in Karkal, as part of the Nahal nucleus route through the Maccabi Tzair youth movement. The Corona caught us unprepared. Hard, we decided not to remain indifferent. We served as assistants in the medical staff's kindergartens, and we also shopped at the supermarket and brought them to the door of adults, people in isolation or people in a difficult socio-economic situation. It was a time of tremendous mission. Karkel and an opportunity to defend my country.

Commander of the Karkal Regiment, Lt. Col. Erez Shabtai:

Dear and dear recruits, The Karkal Battalion is proud to accept into its ranks the volunteers to be fighters, who accept responsibility and join the Karkal Battalion family, the trust for the mission of border protection. You begin your journey at the Border Protection School, where you will go through the training period that will lead you to training in the battalion. In the intensive training you will go through exercises, ranges and field lessons, and you will learn the theory of border protection. At the end of the training you will receive the coveted mottled beret. There were values and bad ones for each other. The recruits by your side will go a unique way with you. "Mission in mind, people always." I wish you success.

Or Segev, 19, from Beit Kama, enlists in the paratroopers:

I am finishing a year at the Tavor Pre-Military Preparatory School. After Purim, the mechina routine stopped, and the corona routine began. For two crazy months we were everywhere we needed to be, from agriculture to dormitories for people with special needs. Due to my acquaintance with people who were financially harmed during the Corona period, I initiated a project in which I raised more than 15,000 shekels; With this amount, small businesses bought food baskets and Friday meals, which were distributed to 400 families throughout the country. I am happy to enlist in the paratroopers and I am sure that service will be a significant challenge in my life.

Commander of the Paratroopers' Brigade, Lt. Col. Ephraim Avni:

Dear recruits, today you are starting the path that will eventually lead you to the red family - a family with many generations and a long history. Now it's your turn to get under the security stretcher of the State of Israel. Hard and challenging work before you, but the right and the satisfaction of being a paratrooper cannot be described. Here is your new home, where you will meet your best friends and fight side by side. Here you will turn from soldiers into warriors, and from warriors - into paratroopers.

Gili Ezra, 19, from Dimona, enlists as a fighter in the Home Front Command's rescue and rescue corps:

The Corona caught us in the middle of the preparatory year in Jerusalem, at the height of our activities, volunteers and experiences. I realized that right now, more than ever, we are needed. I led my preparatory course for volunteering in the city, from a camp for doctors' children, to giving a gift to Holocaust survivors and bereaved families, to distributing food to the needy. I was filled with satisfaction from our work as a preparatory school, since in an emergency every activity of an organization or of private individuals is of great importance. Recruiting for the position of fighter in the rescue and rescue corps is a dream come true for me. Wishing conscripts to serve with deep intent, in the military and in every setting.

Commander of the Rescue and Lifeguard Brigade, Lt. Col. Shlomi Ben Yair:

Dear recruits, the coming months are fraught with many challenges and influential experiences. During them you will undergo a unique and meaningful training that you will not forget, and at the end of which you will become rescue fighters and join the orange family. A fighter and a rescue fighter hold their weapons in one hand, in order to protect the country, and extend their other hand to a citizen in the home front with rescue and assistance when needed. Service in the Orange Division entails saving lives, which is a sacred goal. Successfully!

Uri Sandrov, 18, from Hod Hasharon, enlists in the Armored Corps:

The corona caught me unprepared. I had already made plans for a flight to Spain and was preparing for the end-of-year prom, two things that unfortunately did not materialize. During the closure, I identified with the loneliness of the adults and turned to Ziv and Ofri, instructors from the Cycle project, who teaches teenagers how to set up a social enterprise. I joined a venture where I was responsible for 55 volunteers, who had weekly conversations with city veterans to alleviate their loneliness. After sorting into many units, I realized that Armor is the place for me. I am very much looking forward to the future.

Commander of the Armored Corps, Lt. Col. Tal Alkobi:

Dear August 20 recruits, the Armored Corps congratulates you on enlisting in the Army's strike force. The conversion of all the regular divisions to the Mark 4 chariot tank, the most advanced tank in the world, is currently being completed. All recruits to the tank formation will be eligible to take part and become crew members in the most technological and deadly machine on land. We at the Armored Corps are excited for the opening of the upcoming training and are prepared for the recruitment at the Corona borders to prevent infection. Conscription into the combat army is not obvious, and therefore - a great appreciation for the strength and sense of responsibility you show for the State of Israel.
