Oberding - For a long time in Oberding they pondered how a holiday program could be set up despite Corona. The solution: a bike rally with stations across the community, which you can do independently for the entire holiday. The relief that something could happen was soon followed by disillusionment."Since the beginning of our bike rally we have been struggling with theft and damage to property," reported the disappointed local councilor and youth officer Franziska Hilmer.
For example, the box with brightly painted stones for the tic-tac-toe game disappeared. “And three balls that were procured for goal wall shooting are also gone. Likewise the hammer on the nail bar, ”Hilmer lists. Even a post to which the station description was attached was smashed.

“We would like to express our thanks to the families who enjoy the rally and handle the material carefully,” says Hilmer. "But we won't let such rioters stop us," adds Johannes Sandtner, also a local councilor and youth officer. "We check all stations at least once a week and hope that the situation will ease in the future."
The rally starts at the community library in Oberding. "Every child can take a participant card with them," explains Birgitt Kukla, director. Prizes will be drawn among all participants after the holidays. The route leads over 18 stations through all the larger towns in the municipality and is around 15 kilometers long. “Of course, the rally can also be done in several daily stages,” says Kukla. Everything is offered, from sports exercises to community games to handicrafts. “It's great that we had 20 solution slips in the lucky box after the first week,” reports Hilmer happily.
