Beirut-Sana
The Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Zaspiken called for the bombing of the Beirut port not to be politicized and to exploit it internally for political purposes, expressing his conviction that the Lebanese security services are capable of carrying out the necessary investigation.
Zaspiken said in a radio interview today in Beirut that it is too early to conclude and talk about the long-term repercussions of what happened in the port of Beirut, and we must all bear this burden and work to remove the effects of this disaster, explaining that the costs are exorbitant and continue for years, pointing at the same time that the field hospital And the Russian emergency team will remain in Lebanon according to the requirements of the situation, especially since there are Lebanese hospitals that have stopped working due to the damage they have from the port explosion.
Regarding some countries breaking the siege on Lebanon due to the port explosion, he considered solidarity between everyone as a natural and a moral and human duty, saying: “We hope that the blockade will be broken because in the recent period the American policy has been negative towards Lebanon and if there is a review it will be better, but I doubt that.”
Zaspiken added that those calling for an international tribunal seem to have other positions to internationalize the Lebanese situation, and we reject this principle and we do not want there to be anything against Lebanese sovereignty, indicating at the same time that Russia will reject if the issue of internationalizing the Lebanese crisis is raised.
