29 people were killed in a landslide in southern India

The death toll from a landslide at a tea plantation in Kerala state, Iduki province, southern India, has risen to 29, while 80 others are still missing.

"Yesterday evening we pulled out 26 bodies, and today we pulled out three more," a district police official told AFP, confirming that the search for survivors would continue after being hampered by the rain.

And an earlier toll yesterday, at least 19 people were killed as a result of the collapse.

Yesterday, Kerala state also witnessed a commercial plane crash upon landing during a storm, killing 18 people.
