Altenstadt's new mayor Andreas Kögl has been in office for 100 days. In the interview he looks back on the first few months at his new place of work.

Altenstadt - Mr. Kögl, draw a brief conclusion about the first 100 days in office.

The new role as mayor poses challenges that are very diverse and take a lot of time. An experienced mayor once said that it was the best job in the world. I think he's right. "

What is different than before at Raiffeisenbank?

I start working around the same time, but my way to the town hall has become significantly shorter. Since I've often been cycling to work, my ecological footprint has improved significantly. Before I was the head of the public relations department, now I represent the community in public.

What is the relationship like in the cooperation with the staff of the municipality and the administrative community?

It's very good. I'm the one who has to learn a lot, if not everything, first. The others already know their way around. I hope you will forgive me for my mistakes, which you inevitably make in a completely new area of responsibility. A proper debut from me is still missing. But we will certainly find another opportunity to do so.

What are your tasks as VG vice-president?

As long as Guntram Vogelsgesang can be found regularly in the Altenstadt town hall, my tasks are quite manageable. We discuss important things with each other.

How is the cooperation with the mayors of the administrative community?

Since the three of us are new (editor's note: Georg Saur, Ingenried, Manfred Schmid, Schwabsoien and Andreas Kögl, Altenstadt), there are inevitably some topics to which the newcomers in particular have many questions and the veterans have good answers valuable combination. We have set a regular meeting with the mayors and management. That has worked well.

What is the relationship between the new mayor and the local associations?

Corona has made it very quiet at the clubs so far. Club life is slowly starting again. I am very happy that a bit of normality has leveled off again and you can tell that people are longing to have social contact again. Since I've been active in local club life for many decades myself, the contact with the clubs is nothing new. I have been the first chairman of the fire brigade association for 20 years. I always have an open ear for clubs, as they make a significant contribution to local life.

How have you been reconciling family and leisure lately?

There is a huge problem. My family has to do without me a lot. But she fully supports me, that is very valuable and important. My free time has shrunk to a minimum. Recently, people have been thinking more carefully about how to use their little free time. Overall, I hope that a balance that is acceptable to all of us will be reached in the near future.
