Several hundred people gathered on the night of August 8 to 9 in the town of Matougues (Marne), as part of a festive evening. On the spot, the gendarmerie noted that the barrier measures were not respected by the participants ”, originating in several cities of France but also of Belgium or the Netherlands, indicated the ARS Grand-Est in a joint statement with the prefecture of Marne.

" According to the organizers, this festive gathering " organized by the Guyanese community " was initially supposed to bring together around a hundred people. The gendarmes noted " the absence of respect for barrier gestures, and in particular the wearing of a mask when the physical distance (1 meter) could not be respected ".

The ARS estimates that the risk is all the higher because of the age of the participants, mostly between 20 and 40 years old, while the latest epidemiological point disseminated by Sante Publique France shows an increase of + 45% of cases. positive during the last week of July among 15 - 44 year olds.
