The Department of Health announced yesterday (8th) that 69 new confirmed cases have been confirmed, a record low in a single day in the past 18 days, but there are still 44% and 30 cases of unknown origin. There were 40 to 50 newly confirmed cases in the first half of the day, which is a relatively small number of cases.

Four of them were a 90-year-old female patient (Case No. 2269) from Caritas Medical Centre. They were admitted to the hospital on July 22 with abdominal pain and separated at 11:11 this morning.
An 88-year-old female patient (Case No. 2429) from the North District Hospital was admitted to the hospital with fever and cough on July 23. She was separated at 3:57 this morning.
A 78-year-old female patient (Case No. 2955) from Tuen Mun Hospital was admitted to the hospital with fever and cough on July 27.
She was separated from the 81-year-old male patient (Case No. 3714) of Queen Mary Hospital at 5.37 this morning. He was admitted to the hospital on the 4th of confirmed infection with COVID-19 and passed away at 7:52 this morning.
Together with the above 4 patients, a total of 51 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have passed away in public hospitals in Hong Kong so far. Among them, the 78-year-old female patient in the 2955th case was a resident of the Golden Branch of the Kang Wo Nursing Centre in Tuen Mun. A total of 7 cases have been recorded in the hospital Death cases.
