Participants in the Support Lebanon Conference expressed their readiness to support Lebanon's economic advancement and to provide prompt and adequate assistance under the leadership of the United Nations, delivered directly to the Lebanese people.
Participants in the "International Support Conference for Beirut and the Lebanese People" said in a final statement published by the Lebanese Presidency on its Twitter page, "According to the United Nations assessment, there are clear needs, especially in the medical and health sector, in the educational field, in the food sector, and at the level of urban rehabilitation, and these axes will be met. Priority within the international emergency aid programs.
"The partners are ready to support the economic and financial advancement of Lebanon, which requires within the framework of a strategy to achieve stability the full commitment of the Lebanese authorities to swiftly implement the measures and reforms that the Lebanese people expect," the statement said.
The statement added, "At the request of Lebanon, the assistance for an impartial, reliable and independent investigation of the August 4 explosion is an immediate need and is available," indicating that work will be done to overcome the results of the explosion.
