At the same time, members of the ultra-Orthodox factions are pushing for an increase in the number of worshipers allowed in synagogues, which currently stands at ten people. The chairman of the Constitution Committee, MK Yaakov Asher (Torah Judaism), said that "I hope that the cabinet will correct the wrong criterion in relation to the synagogues, and approve the increase in the number of worshipers." He said, "The constitutional committee headed by me will review the decision - and will not hesitate to repeal it if it does not have justice and logic. It cannot be that discretion will not be exercised regarding houses of worship as has already been done in other industries."

In addition to the new restrictions, the Corona Cabinet will extend the emergency regulations in force today, which are expected to expire. This, by virtue of the great corona law passed in the Knesset last month. The existing restrictions today, which will be extended, are to maintain a distance of two meters between people, and a ban on the gathering of more than ten people indoors and 20 in an open space. Also, the limit that determines the allowable occupancy in restaurants is expected to remain up to 20 diners in the indoor space and 30 outside. The ban on operating bars, pubs, clubs as well as halls and event gardens will also be extended.
