(CNN) - "America's Got Talent" judge Simon Cowell underwent surgery after breaking his back at various points when falling off his bike on Saturday.
At the time of the accident, the 60-year-old entertainment mogul, who shares a child with partner Lauren Silverman, was testing a new electric bicycle with his family in the backyard of his Malibu, California home, his spokesperson said.
"They took him to the hospital where they operated on him overnight, he is under observation and is doing well," the spokeswoman told CNN.

Cowell, also known for being the judge of "Britain's Got Talent," "American Idol" and "X Factor," was scheduled to return to "America's Got Talent" during the first live episode to air Tuesday.
