Since the beginning of the corona pandemic, company conferences have been held almost exclusively online. With sports clubs, virtual get-togethers are still the exception - until now.

Weilheim - TSV Weilheim took care of the premiere and held its delegate meeting online. "This is a one-time thing and will hopefully remain unique." With these words Eva-Maria Schweiger greeted the 60 logged in delegates. Equipped with headphones and a microphone, the club's vice-president led through the 173rd meeting of the traditional club from her study.
“I would prefer a normal meeting,” admitted TSV President Dieter Pausch afterwards. "Last year was actually a great year for TSV, because we are already in the final phase with the northern annex at the sports center," he said, introducing his annual report.
TSV Weilheim: decrease by 370 members
However, the corona crisis did not leave the sports club without a trace. Several members have since resigned. Of the 4,300 members at the end of 2018, 3930 are currently left (1,850 of them children). "This means we are still the largest and most modern sports club south of Munich and I'm proud of that," he said, taking the decline relatively calmly. By the end of the year, he expects an increase to 4,100 members again. "If things go up again after Corona, we expect 4500 in 2023," he said, looking ahead confidently.

His confidence comes mainly from the north extension, which TSV built in almost record time. "And we get out cheaper than the planned 1.53 million euros, which is also a great achievement by Alfred Falk, who managed the construction for us," he added.
Some of the costs were already included in the 2019 balance sheet, as cashier Heinz Peuker explained in his cash report. With slightly lower income of 708,000 euros and expenditure of 933,000 euros (of which 330,000 euros for cultivation), the bottom line was a minus of 225,000 euros last year. With the completion of the construction project, the budget will grow significantly in the current year. Income of 1.7 million euros will be offset by expenses of 1.8 million euros.

"Financially it is a tricky situation, we have no income from the sauna, from events and the holiday Äktschn", said Pausch. In addition, there are additional cleaning costs for the gyms due to Corona, which the sports club has to cover. Nevertheless, the sports club wants to relieve its 22 departments - the rugby division was added as the youngest child in February - during the Corona period. In the second half of the year, no indoor solos, which amount to around 6,600 euros, will be collected.
The TSV President sees black clouds gathering in relation to the upcoming hall projects in the district town. “There are many question marks about the plans for the 2 + 1 hall at the grammar school, the expansion of the X-ray hall and the renovation of the Jahnhalle. I reckon that everything will be pushed back, ”said Pausch. He and the cashiers were subsequently exonerated by a large majority. The household also received the blessing of the delegates, who largely foregone questions at the end of the one-hour online meeting. “I am delighted that the meeting went so well under these circumstances,” concludes Pausch. "We have to keep our distance, but as a club we are sliding closer together due to Corona" - with these words he closed the online meeting.
