Police today (Monday) filed a prosecutor's statement in the Bat Yam Juvenile Court against two boys from Lod, suspected of assaulting young people from Tel Aviv and offenses of racial motives on the basis of their sexual orientation.

According to the suspicion, the boys attacked the young people on a homophobic basis while waiting in line to board a ship in the port of Jaffa, as well as insulting and spitting on them.

Yesterday, the police submitted a prosecutor's statement to the Juvenile Magistrate's Court issued by the Tel Aviv State Attorney's Office, and the suspects' detention was extended until tomorrow evening.

The police said: "The Israel Police will continue to conduct its investigations in depth and will reach the perpetrators of the offenses with whom it will complete the sentence to the end, as in this case."

Last Saturday evening, the Jaffa police received a report of a fight in a port area between several people involved. Police arrived at the scene and immediately opened an investigation during which they obtained difficult documentation materials from the brawl that were even distributed throughout the network.
