President Alberto Fernández and the head of the Buenos Aires Government are meeting at Quinta de Olivos to define whether the City enables the operation of bars and restaurants and individual sports.

The meeting alone between Fernández and Larreta began after 17:00. The leaders are analyzing the evolution of cases in the city of Buenos Aires to determine if it is possible to move forward with the opening of more activities starting next Monday.

As Clarín learned, the objective of the Buenos Aires government is to organize and focus the opening of recreational and commercial activities.

From the City they want to advance with the permission to enable individual sports such as tennis, paddle tennis, golf and rowing , which were going to start on Monday, August 3, but the increasing numbers stopped them.

In this same stage, it was planned that consumption would be enabled on the sidewalks of bars and restaurants, on tables and chairs, but without waiters. That is, as a kind of self-service.

However, sources explained to Clarín that this measure is under study, in order to avoid crowds. Especially in those neighborhoods with a high concentration of gastronomy venues.

In the last part of cases released this Sunday by the Ministry of Health, in the last 24 hours, 873 infections were registered in the City, which brings the total number of cases in this district to 70,056. In the week the number of infected had climbed above 1,400 cases.

In this sense, the Buenos Aires Minister of Health, Fernán Quirós, affirmed this Monday that the curve of coronavirus infections in CABA is "mature" and that "in a few weeks" it could fall.

"The curve is ripe and it is a matter of a few weeks before it begins to descend, which does not mean that we have solved anything, nor that anything can be released, nor that we have to relax, because starting to descend does not mean that the problem is solved ", indicated the minister in his usual press conference.
