A protester was killed on Monday evening in Belarus by his own explosive device during protests against President Alexander Lukashenko's re-election the day before, Belarusian police said.

" One of the protesters tried to throw an explosive device at the police , but this device exploded in his hands, " killing him, police said in a statement.
