Elisa Carrió came out to support the acting attorney Eduardo Casal, at the initiative of the Government to remove him from his post. "He must resist the harassment and onslaught of Cristina Kirchner who seeks to destabilize him and for that he has our backing," said the founder of the Civic Coalition in a statement signed with the party's national deputies bloc.

“Casal is today the Attorney General of the Nation because the law decided it, it was not put by any president. Dr. Casal has the duty to resist the personal onslaught of Cristina Kirchner and should not resign , but also the politicians who believe in the division of powers, we must give him our support ”, said Carrió and the legislators of the CC-ARI.

In the bicameral Monitoring and Control of the Public Prosecutor's Office, the ruling party approved the transfer of 12 requests for impeachment against Casal to the area commission in the Chamber of Deputies. Alberto Fernández proposed Daniel Rafecas for the position, but at the moment he does not gather two thirds of the votes in the Senate due to the rejection of Juntos por el Cambio.

"We are not going to allow a career official to be displaced because the Vice President of the Nation wants impunity and revenge, " they pointed directly at Cristina Kirchner. Carrió's new pronouncement was known after the virtual meeting of the national board of Together for Change, in which referents from the PRO, the UCR and the Civic Coalition ratified the rejection of the judicial reform promoted by the Government and the refusal to extend the agreement in the Chamber of Deputies to deal with this project and other controversial ones promoted by the ruling party in a virtual way.

Since the Government promoted the judicial reform and the commission of experts to analyze changes in the functioning of the Supreme Court, the Council of the Magistracy, the Public Prosecutor's Office and the trials by jury, Carrió began to be more active since her political retreat and fulfillment of the quarantine in his chacha de Exaltación de la Cruz. In another statement, last week he had accused Alberto Fernández and Cristina Kirchner of the alleged  "crime of infamous traitors to the homeland" for prohibiting family gatherings throughout the country.

"The Civic Coalition will not tolerate pressure and disqualification against the head of the Public Ministry, for this reason we will uphold the rejection of the impeachment that he wants to carry out," Carrió warned in the statement. “Defending the Republic is, basically, defending the independence of all the powers of the State. We know how to do that job and we will always do it ”, they concluded.
