The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced the start of accepting documents for Syrian students and those of similar status residing outside the territories of the Syrian Arab Republic who have obtained a non-Syrian high school diploma for the year 2020 with its scientific and literary branches wishing to enroll in Syrian government universities for the 2020-2021 academic year.

In an announcement that SANA received a copy of, the ministry stated that the documents for applying to the university admission trade-offs "general comparison and non-resident Syrians" for government universities and institutes of the Supreme Council for Technical Education for the academic year 2020-2021 will be received via e-mail, until the tenth of next September. In order to study it and calculate the average and grades of the certificate in preparation to allow the families of students or their relatives or acquaintances of the citizens of the Syrian Arab Republic residing in Syria to carry out all the procedures for applying to the comparison in their place.

The documents required according to the Ministry's announcement include the student and delegate's self-application form, a duly certified copy of the original document for success in the non-Syrian high school diploma, a copy of the passport, a study sequence document, or a transcript for the first and second secondary grades, indicating that the student studied the entire secondary stage outside Syria.

The ministry indicated that the results of studying the documents and calculating the rates and degrees of the certificates will be announced through the two sites of preference and the Ministry of Higher Education with the student’s data in order for the student’s commissioner to submit the differentiation request indicating that the commissioner is not allowed to submit documents to more than two students under penalty of cancellation of the applications submitted by him. For more than two students if they are siblings only. Sending documents is not considered to be a request for preference, but rather only to study the documents before the official announcement is issued to apply for the selection.
