The violator of the unity agreement is the elite of the first Israel, and not Netanyahu who is morally committed to the rotation • Lapid & Co. left Blue and White because they refused the idea of reconciliation • Opinion

Prime Minister Netanyahu is morally committed to fulfilling the rotation agreement with Bnei Gantz, who saved Israel in a dramatic moment. This does not contradict our commitment to look at this historic event and understand that the rotation agreement and the unity government were violated by Israel's elite. This important agreement was not signed. Only as a contract between Netanyahu and Gantz, but as a national reconciliation agreement between Second Israel and the national-traditional camp and First Israel.

The first Israeli elite is the one that violated the unity and rotation agreement, which had two words at its heart: reconciliation and respect. Go to a reconciliation government and allow Netanyahu to step down from the prime minister's chair with dignity.

The first Israeli elite violated it once in demonstrations that despise the prime minister in the streets, a second time through its hegemony in the mainstream media that mobilized for the campaign against unity and reconciliation, and a third time through its hegemony in the judiciary and the High Court. To serve as an alternate prime minister.

The unity government and the rotation agreement are meant to defuse an explosive device in the form of a prime minister loved and appreciated by a huge and muted public, who are on trial. To prevent a traumatic national event, democracy has wisely succeeded in building a rescue route that will prevent a large public from losing faith in it and the justice system.

What was the reaction of the first Israeli elite to the idea of reconciliation at this historic moment? The moderate faction in the first Israel, the Bnei Gantz faction, was defeated by those who refused reconciliation. The reaction to the noble move of Ganz and his friends who ostensibly supplied the goods, only in a democratic and reconciled way - another year and a half Netanyahu is replaced - was rage and a campaign of demonstrations.

Because the first elite of Israel does not want reconciliation with the second but its humiliation. It is not clear whether the protest broke out mainly against the first Israeli political representative, Bnei Gantz, who failed in fulfilling his mission: to humiliate the opponent and not reconcile with him, or whether the protest exploded after the first Israeli legal representatives, High Court judges, disappointed and did not disqualify Netanyahu during Anti-democratic of canceling the election results after millions went out to fulfill their democratic duty, and voted for Netanyahu.

Blue and white split not because Lapid and his friends believed that Netanyahu would not maintain the rotation, but because they refused the idea of reconciliation. And they refused the idea of reconciliation because it is part of the culture of the elitist faction in the first (not all) Israel. One for some limited time they need a catharsis of intoxication of power that will prove that they are the lords of the land despite the vote of the democratic majority. We saw this in 1977 at Menachem Begin's arrogant and rude reception.

We saw it in 2005 in the face of the disengagement tears. We saw this in the shouts of the crowd in the square in 1999, "Just not Shas" - as if the murderer of our Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin had come close, whose powerful faction in Israel first destroyed without hesitation his sincere and fascinating attempt to reach out to Second Israel and Welsh. S. And we see it now in 2020: when the reaction of the first Israeli elite to the idea of reconciliation that Gantz tried to lead is an angry explosion.
