Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's decision last night (Sunday) to support the law to postpone the approval of the budget for November on first reading only does not necessarily herald the end of the budget crisis. This is a proposal that will allow the budget to be approved 200 days after the government was sworn in, ie on November 25 instead of August 25. If it is not approved by then, the Knesset will dissolve and Israel will go to the polls.

Netanyahu's decision to approve the law only in its early stages, and not in three readings, was intended, among other things, to thwart the possibility that Blue and White MKs will vote next Wednesday in favor of a bill that would prevent him as a criminal defendant from forming a government. If he supports a proposal aimed at resolving the crisis, Defense Minister Bnei Gantz will not dare to support such a law.

Only if Netanyahu supports the promotion of the law to postpone the budget in the second and third readings will there be a real possibility of postponing the election. Until then, the crisis is far from resolved. Senior Likud officials have said in recent weeks that Netanyahu will agree to this only on the condition that there are agreements on the transfer of the budget; At this point, the Likud and Blue and White continue to exaggerate their positions, and the dispute is far from resolved.

Yesterday, Netanyahu opened the first door from which the news of ending the crisis in the coalition may come. If it agrees to promote the law initiated by the faction Courtesy three readings, Communications Minister Yuval Yoaz and chairman of the foreign affairs and defense committee Zvi Hauser will along with their party to celebrate an accomplishment, or at least postpone the crisis for three months.

But if Netanyahu does not allow the promotion of law in three readings Handel and Hauser may have meant well, but in general they gave Netanyahu the lifeline from the law that prevents him from forming a government under an indictment.

Netanyahu's decision to support the law was announced last night by the Derech Eretz faction, and a statement issued by Handel and Hauser states that "the prime minister granted our request and we welcome any progress towards resolving the crisis. Following the announcement, the Knesset committee is expected to convene today to approve the The

proposal will be put to a vote on Wednesday in a preliminary reading, and its further promotion will depend on the consent of Netanyahu or the opposition factions. Without the support of any of them, there will be no majority to advance the proposal until final approval.

The decision does not resolve the main debate. And Gantz - Will an annual or biennial budget be promoted? A senior Likud official said yesterday that while Netanyahu agreed to "give a last chance for a compromise," he immediately continued to demand an annual budget immediately. "We expect a white brush to focus mainly on "A war in Corona and the transfer of funds and grants to the citizens of Israel - and to avoid dragging the State of Israel to unnecessary elections," the senior Likud official clarified.

In blue and white, they refuse a limited budget for a few months, claiming that this is a violation of the coalition agreement and demand that the agreement be implemented and that a biennial budget be transferred for the years 2020-2021. However, the party welcomed Netanyahu's decision: "Blue and White congratulates the Likud on its response to maintaining its political and public stability in Israel," the party said last night.

"Blue and White will do everything in its power to prevent terrible elections by Israeli citizens in the midst of one of the most serious crises in the country's history. We will support the amendment of the existing law, in a way that will allow a budget to rehabilitate Israel's economy," they added. "The citizens of the State of Israel deserve the best confessions and stability at this time and we will continue to do so."
