The Minister of Finance, Israel Katz, and the Minister of Economy and Industry, Amir Peretz, yesterday agreed on a plan to encourage investment and employment in the industries in the wake of the Corona crisis.
The plan, which requires the approval of the government, was formulated by the Ministries of Finance, Economy and Industry in cooperation with the Manufacturers' Association and includes NIS 1.1 billion in assistance to encourage employment and make investments in industry and the high-tech industry.
The program includes budgets to encourage investment, research and development and innovation as well as opening markets with an emphasis on enterprises affected as a result of the crisis and retaining a significant proportion of their workers, an industrial development budget and a budget to encourage employee absorption by employers and a training budget for employers.
The offices will work to produce a route free of bureaucracy that will allow for a quick allocation of funds to a plant that meets the criteria. The Minister of Finance, Israel Katz, stated: "As part of the Acceleration Program for the Economy, we agreed on an industry assistance program that combines investment encouragement and employment strengthening to strengthen the economy during this period. ".
The Minister of Economy and Industry, Amir Peretz, said: "The program to encourage investment is a big line for employers and workers affected by the Corona crisis. This program will compensate for the first time the fair employers who chose to retain their employees despite a decline in their turnover."
Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Wages and Employment Agreements in the Ministry of Finance, Kobi Bar-Natan, and the Chairman of the Medical Association, Prof. Zion Hagai, signed an agreement regulating the payment to doctors who went into isolation following exposure to Corona as part of their work and their wages will not be harmed. Sick days for the period of isolation will not be deducted for doctors who were exposed to Corona as part of their medical work.
