Ricardo Darín supports his colleagues: "Our activity is in total red"

Ricardo Darín (63) assured that he has changed his position in relation to the first days of the mandatory quarantine due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The actor, who some time ago had indicated that he did not consider his activity "an essential service" , explained his reasoning, for which he received some criticism.

"If we go back five months when we assumed the quarantine in a more limited time, it seemed to me that if the people responsible for taking care of us in health or security forces had to be cut back, our activity could not be classified as essential," he considered Darín in a note with the radio cycle La Conversation (AM 1110).

And he continued, clarifying his sayings: "That does not mean that today, five months later the situation of our activity, that unfortunately and sadly is the last to be reactivated. Which I consider puts the situation in total red . I said that and I support it.  For us it is essential, but we are speaking of a community, not of the collective of the spectacle " .

​Later, Darín explained that he agrees with the letter in which numerous actors and actresses demanded from the government, among other things, urgent salary compensation . “There are four or five points of what they state that they are good, that seem very reasonable to me. But there are two or three that seem more difficult to execute. But on the other hand it seemed to me that I had to be with my colleagues and sign, "he said.

Darín also pointed out that he does not rule out working via the web, as a large number of colleagues have been doing: "If the situation continues in this way, I think it 's okay for us to work on streaming works."

Although he stressed: "What is undeniable is that it is difficult to replace the fact of the theater with the audience under the same roof and with the cast that represents the work, that has no replacement, but that does not mean that someone who is far away can at the same time watch the work by streaming ”.
