Grasbrunn - Around four hectares of a grain field near Ekkehartstraße in Grasbrunn burned down on Sunday around 5 p.m. The farmer had tried unsuccessfully to pull a swath into the field with his tractor in order to contain the spread of the flames. The police reported that the tractor was also damaged.
The fire department commander fears that it was the serial arsonist again
Maybe someone lit the field. An arsonist has been up to mischief in the region since 2017 , setting fires in forest and grass areas, recalls Johannes Bußjäger , commander of the Grasbrunn fire brigade. Per hectare of destroyed grain, one must reckon with a loss of 1500 euros for the farmer.
Police are looking for witnesses
