Shortly after completing five months of quarantine due to the advance of the coronavirus, a radical deputy of Together for Change presented a project for the creation of " social bubbles" that allow meetings of up to ten people in the middle of the pandemic.
The initiative, which has already been implemented in Canada, Belgium, England and New Zealand, involves the "socialization and interaction of a maximum group of 10 people, who will only interact with each other , exclusively, outside the home and will be residents of the same city".
The bill was presented by Buenos Aires legislator Josefina Mendoza and accompanied by her peers from Together for Change in the lower house.
"Urge the National Executive Power to implement the creation of social bubbles in the framework of the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic, through the corresponding agencies, which have as their function and purpose the socialization and interaction of a maximum group of 10 (ten) people, who will only interact with each other, exclusively, outside the home and will be residents of the same city, contemplating the sanitary protocols and the corresponding security measures to avoid possible contagions ", says the project of resolution elaborated by Mendoza.
"Almost 150 days is a long time. We know that the vast majority of Argentines have been respecting the isolation established by the Government, but we also know that many families, especially in the AMBA, are meeting with each other , establishing the necessary protocols, because it is something inevitable, "explained the deputy.
And he added: "This strategy would be a benefit for the mental health, psychological well-being and anxiety relief of citizens since it could increase their circle of social contact and minimize the risk of contagion of the disease, leading quarantine in a more enjoyable way for everyone ”.
According to the initiative, each citizen can only belong to one social bubble, that is, they belong exclusively to that group.
This measure of "social bubbles" was implemented by the governments of Canada, Belgium, England and New Zealand, and the latter registered last weekend 100 days without new cases of Coronavirus, with a success in the implementation of their public policies.
