This Tuesday, while the Gimnasia de La Plata team prepares to start training, its coach Diego Maradona underwent the test to detect the coronavirus.  Dr. Leopoldo Luque, Diez's personal physician, and José Flavio "Pepe" Tunessi, the Wolf's physician, were in charge of collecting the sample and approached the DT's new house, in the Campos de Roca country (Brandsen), to perform the corresponding swab.

Complying with the protocol established for the return to soccer training, the players, coaching staff and employees of Gymnastics  underwent PCR swabs at the Social Headquarters of the La Plata team during the past weekend (Friday and Saturday). In addition, this Monday the serological tests for Covid-19 arranged by the AFA were carried out and the good news is that they all tested negative.

The players will return to work at Estancia Chica on Tuesday afternoon, divided into two groups (one at 3 pm and the other at 5 pm). Then, from Wednesday to Saturday, they will also practice in two shifts (at 9 and 11). "In each one there will be two groups of six players who will train simultaneously on different playing fields. At the same time, the archers will practice on field number 2 of Estancia Chica," the institution reported.

What will happen to Diego? Although the result of the PCR test that was carried out would be known this Wednesday, the doctors insist that Maradona remain at home and that he not be during the first days of work at the Abasto property. "It is not convenient for him to go at this time of high circulation of the virus. We must avoid contagion taking into account that he may be a risk patient due to his age and history," said Luque, who also gave details of Pelusa's health .

"During a stage of his quarantine he had problems with alcohol and was drinking more , but that was corrected and now he is very well: he lost 10 kilos, I see him better and better and he is enthusiastic about training. We set goals and he is overcome . Diego is in an exponential improvement curve , " he added.
